Died: January 24, 2024 in Aurora, IL
With great sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Keenan Jr. on January 24, 2024 in Aurora IL surrounded by family.
Bob was born May, 12th 1937 in Sandwich to Robert and Ura (Faught) Keenan. He grew up going to Oswego schools, where he met Nancy Rissman. They were married on September 10th, 1955 and eventually moved to Sandwich where they raised their five children.
From a young age, Bob was an avid and skilled outdoorsman and sportsman, participating in canoe racing and Cross-country skiing competitions. He also enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of trap shooting, boating, hunting, and fishing with many family members, who will have many memories of their times together. Bob loved watching and being involved in the activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The Sandwich Fair held a special place in Bob's heart. It is where he took the love of his life Nancy on their first date and for decades they enjoyed working at the fair and especially as crossing guards for the Otto Train.
Bob worked at All-Steel until his retirement. After retirement he got his CDL license and drove semi-trucks for Plano Molding.
Bob is survived by his wife Nancy; children Janice (Bill) Fritsch, Karen (Bob) Forst, Lynda (Mike) Keenan-Wilkinson, Richard (Tina) Keenan; Grandchildren Eric Forst, Tanzi Melton, Zackery (Renee) Reichenbach-Carr, Garet (Tammy) Fritsch, Shena Fritsch, Joseph (Megan) Keenan, Teela (Jacob) Wilson, Estee' (David) Wisinski, Auston (Rachel) Forst, Tyka Keenan, Hannah Forst, Tara (Joshua) McCreight, Truman (Morgaine) Forst; 22 great-grandchildren; sister Julia Keenan; sister-in-law Kathy Sullivan; Brothers-in-laws Don (Dee) Rissman and Gerry Rissman. and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Ronald Keenan; sisters Linda Keenan and Mary Erkkila; in-laws Larry and Ruby Rissman; brothers-in-law George Rissman and Walt Sullivan.
Arrangements through Nelson Funeral Homes in Yorkville. No services at this time.
