Barbara Ehlen

1960 - 2026

Barbara Jean Ehlen (Schuch), age 65, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on July 12, 1960, in Kenosha, Wisc., Barb was the daughter of Delores Theresa La Montagne (Schuch) and Edward Rudolph Schuch. In 1994, she made Merrillan, Wisc. her home.

Barb shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Raymond Robert Ehlen. Together, they created a life centered around family, adventure, and the simple joys.

She was a proud mother to Cynthia R. Johnson (Cody)and Kristopher R. Ehlen. "Meme" to her grandchildren, Donovan, Skyler, Ayden, Lily, Brooklynn, and Natalie; and great-grandchildren, Bryer and Weston.

In her younger years, she chose to run an in-home daycare so she could stay home and raise her children. After moving north, Barb worked at Family Heritage and later spent 24 years at the Krohn Clinic, before retiring in 2023. Barb also dedicated time to serving her community as a first responder with the Hatfield Fire Department, and frequently volunteered at local food banks.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Carl Schuch; and her in-laws, Raymond W. and Della J. Ehlen.

Barb's greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely. She taught those around her to love deeply, to be kind, and to cherish every moment. Her warmth, laughter, and light will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her oncologist and the compassionate care teams at numerous health facilities for the exceptional care they provided over the last two and a half years.

A celebration of Barb's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at North Branch Humbird Rod and Gun, N2962 Main St, Humbird, WI, 54746, from 12 to 4 p.m.
