Cyndy Strangberg Obituary

Cyndy A. (Sanchez) Strangberg

1955 - 2012

Cyndy A. (Sanchez) Strangberg, 57, of Kenosha Wis., passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at her home surrounded by family, from a short but courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1955, in Racine Wis., to the late Michael and Margaret (Nelson) Sanchez. She graduated from Central High School in Salem, Wis., and attended Gateway Technical College and UW Parkside.

She was employed by the Kenosha Unified School District for 27 years. First in Early Childhood Education and then as a Head Custodian, retiring in February of 2012. Cyndy loved spending time with her grandsons, going to auctions, flea markets and estate sales. She was a true "picker". She was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and loved attending Spring Training in Mesa, Ariz., every year.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amber (Thomas) Dewey of Pleasant Prairie and Sarah (Keith) Ade of Kenosha; grandchildren Trevor Ade and Brody Dewey. She is further survived by brother Thomas (Mary) Sanchez; sisters Catherine (Patrick) Braun, Connie (John) Clark, Janet Brandes, Michelle (Thomas) Ernst, Karen (John) Landreman, Mary (Darrin) Niemiec and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends with special mention of dear friend Kathy Orth. She was preceded in death by her parents and great-nephew Conor Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 5 p.m. at the Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue; south end of complex) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday in Founders Hall from 3:30 p.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family (which will be used to help some special families dear to Cyndys heart) would be appreciated.

Cyndys family would like to thank her medical team at the Froedtert Cancer Center for all their compassion and support.

AN ANGEL AMONG US
By: linda ziobro

There is an angel among us, you all know her by name.
There is an angel among us, and she is so very glad you all came.

Did you see her, sitting over there?
Did you see her, sitting, with hardly a care?

She looks so precious and so free of pain.
She looks so happy and so healthy a-gain.

Yet there is something different about her today.
She moves so freely, and in a completely new way.

That beautiful woman is an angel now.
She is here today to show us, somehow…..

To show us that she is finally okay.
That she now can run with other angels and play.

Don't cry for her, but be glad instead.
For there is no more pain; just a halo on her head.

Loneliness will be felt by all of us, this is true.
Just remember the good times, and all the fond memories too.

Look around you now, and surly you will see,
There is an Angel among us; she is saying don't cry for me.

(We love you Cyndy, our precious New Heavenly Angel. Be free Cyndy, be free…..)

I will always remember the fun times we had as children and what a wonderful woman she was even though we never reconnected in person like we hoped to do. My husband thought he knew you just by our correspondences and hoped to meet you. We will all meet in a better place. Rest in Peace Cyndy and God Bless your family. From your cousin.

I will always remember fondly the times at the farm. I remember Cyndy and I having to climb the apple tree to get away from that mean spirited bull. Uncle Mike took care of him :) The blanket tents, cookie baking, currant picking, the nasty Goose under the porch step, singing, swinging and just being little kids. Your memory will live on in many. Until we meet again someday in heaven, I love you Cyndy. Give your Mom and Dad a great "BIG" hug for me too. Your cousin, Rose
