Daniel John Milewski

June 29, 1939 - July 10, 2021

Daniel John Milewski passed away at his home on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Born June 29, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Sophie (Czarna) Milewski, he graduated from Lindbloom High School and subsequently served nine years in the National Guard. After meeting the love of his life, Dan married Barbara Ann Kapugi on August 29, 1959.

Dan worked as Produce Manager at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company-A&P-grocery store. A master leather crafter, he produced exquisite custom leather goods for over five decades. Dan was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing with his uncle, son and grandchildren in his spare time. He enjoyed gardening, could do complex math in his head, and never met a card game he didn't excel at playing. His favorite moments were spent with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children: Danette (Michael) Kohlmeyer and Vincent Milewski (Morganne MacDonald); his grandchildren: Austin Kohlmeyer (Callie Caldarelli), Aidanne MacDonald Milewski, N.D. (Logan Crain), Cian MacDonald Milewski (Hannah Anderson); sisters: Judith (Sam) Daniels, Pat (Don) Augustyniak, Pam (Dan) Ohlinger; proud uncle of many nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brother John (Sophie) Milewski, and brother-in-law Lawrence Woelfer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Sharing Center, Inc., 25700 Wilmot Rd. Hwy C, Trevor, WI 53179. Play a game of dice, cribbage, euchre, or penny-ante poker, and think of Dan with a smile in your heart. He'd love that.

Service will be held at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 40000 North U.S. Highway 45, Old Mill Creek, IL 60046, at 10:00 am on July 29, 2021.

Special thanks go out to Dan's hospice care team.

"Shuffle the euchre cards & roll the dice knowing Dan probably made the dice cup." B.A.M.

I worked at the A&P in Antioch, Ill. when Dan was my produce manager. I will never forget what a sweet guy he was and a hard worker. My condolences to his whole family.
