KENOSHA - Erwin A. Ney, Jr., 77, died on December 2, 2021 at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha, WI.

Born in Sheboygan, WI on April 28, 1944 to Erwin and Evangeline Ney, Sr. Erwin met his wife, Barbara, while both worked for Piggly Wiggly. They were married on August 14, 1965 in Sheboygan, then moved to Milwaukee where daughter, Melissa, was born. Their son, Todd, was born later, after they settled in Kenosha.

Erwin started working at an early age for Schultz Sav-O Stores, Inc. (Piggly Wiggly). He began as a bag boy and worked his way into management. He was the Head Manager of several Kenosha locations and finished his time with the company running the Zion, IL store. In 1987 he began working for Tombstone Pizza Corp., as a Route Salesman, until his retirement.

With a charismatic personality and an infectious smile, Erwin was considered the "Norm" at any social gathering. He truly enjoyed time spent with family and friends, always making everyone feel comfortable. In his free time, he enjoyed working on his fish pond, gardening, traveling, hot air ballooning, fishing, and watching and feeding the birds. To his kids, he was "Mr. Fix-it", and was great at woodworking and general repairs, though he had enough singed screwdriver ends to prove that electrical work was not his strong suit. Some of his fondest memories with his kids were times spent at the Milwaukee Bucks games, especially going to the final championship game with his son, Todd.

Preceding him in death are his beloved wife, Barb; parents Erwin and Evangeline Ney, Sr.; brother, Edwin; sister, Edith; and numerous extended family members.

He will be missed by his children: Melissa (Melissa Peterson-Ney) Ney and Todd (Colleen) Ney; brothers: Earl (Doreen) Ney, Eugene (Terry) Ney, Ernie Ney; and many nieces, nephews; family and friends.

A Celebration of Erwin's Life will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1520 Green Bay Rd., Somers on February 25, 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. with a service to follow.

In lieu of funeral flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Bethany Lutheran Church-School Fund, or Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan, WI, where his pond fish will live out their days.
