August 23, 1942 - October 29, 2025
WADSWORTH - Eugene Anthony Boyle, 83, of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Born in Waukegan on August 23, 1942, Gene was the son of Fred and Madge (McBride) Boyle.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Joanne Boyle; children Kerry (Matt) Marcinkus, Kevin Boyle, and Ryan (Aubrey) Boyle; grandchildren Kyle and Sarah Ward (great-granddaughter Madison Ward), Nick Marcinkus, Jake Marcinkus, Jadeyn Marcinkus, Kelsi Boyle, Kory Boyle, Seamus Boyle, and Ashling Boyle; and sister Marge Buckner. He was preceded in death by his siblings Daniel, Mary, Brigid, and John. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.
Gene proudly served in the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division in Germany and later worked 34 years as a skilled union carpenter with Local 250. A lifelong car enthusiast, he loved time in his garage, attending gun shows and swap meets, and racing at Union Grove, Wisconsin - a passion he continued well into his 80s.
Visitation will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, Illinois, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.

I just happened to find out that Gene passed away. We were playmates with the entire Boyle family when they lived on Victoria Street. Then they moved and we would see them when we attended Holy Family. Most sincere sympathy to the family.
