Glenn LaBarre Obituary
1927 - 2013
Glenn K. LaBarre, 85, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Clairidge House.
He was born on April 22, 1927, to the late Adler and Edna (Johnson) LaBarre in St. Paul, Minn. He was educated in Mauston, WI and graduated from Elroy High School.
He entered the U.S. Navy in April of 1945. Glenn was in damage control and was in during the WWII, Korean War, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in June of 1968.
On Sept. 16, 1955, he married Eleanor R. Schrake in Williamsburg, Va. She preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 2006.
After the military he worked as a fireman for Glenview NAS from June of 1968 until retiring in September 1983.
Glenn was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid Packer fan.
Glenn is survived by his children, Kenneth LaBarre of Highland, Wis., Debra (Patrick) Upton of Kenosha, Lisa LaBarre of Kenosha and Michael (Angela Dermyer) of Rochester Hills, Mich.; his sister, Donna Pillizzi of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Casey, Tonya, Tara, Tasha, Travis, Brent, Brandon, Stephan, Savanna, Tony and Cayleen and his great grandchildren, Keith, Cyle, Coleton, Alyssa, Jacob, Joey, Nick, Kayla, Morgan, Chris, Jayden, Jillian and Chloe.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lee DeMaree and his brother, Eugene LaBarre.
Funeral Services for Glenn will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clairidge House and Dr. Santarelli for the loving and compassionate care given to Glenn.
