James Kopesky Obituary

James Joseph Kopesky, 68, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away Tuesday evening November 4th, 2025, in Brookfield, WI surrounded by his wife and three sons. He was born January 8th, 1957 in Kenosha, WI, the son of John and Irma (O'Drobinak) Kopesky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Louis, John, Ken, and his sister Joan.

James graduated from Tremper High School in 1975 and graduated cum laude from Carthage College with a bachelor's degree in education. Following his college graduation, he married Lisa Tutlewski on June 1st, 1979 at Siebert Chapel on the campus of Carthage College.

James' first career was in education as a special education teacher at Tremper and Bradford High Schools where he inspired many students and helped them reach their full potential. He also oversaw a job placement program at Reuther High School. After 11 years in education, he made a career change and became a Snap-On Tools Franchisee. He was eventually promoted to a Regional Sales Manager. He finished his career as a Sales and Training manager at Kimball Midwest.

James was an avid Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers fan and was also part owner of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed live music, cooking, taking care of his lawn, and visiting his favorite vacation destination, Door County, WI with his wife and family. He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI.

Remaining to cherish James' memory are spouse, Lisa; children, Jeff (wife Jess), Justin (partner Danielle), and Brandon (fiancé Hannah); grandchildren, Alice and Lydia; brothers, Bob and Tom; sisters, Diane and Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of James' life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in James' memory may be directed to the Musella brain tumor copayment assistance program: virtualtrials.org/Kopesky.
