Jeffery L. Van Caster

Jeffery L. Van Caster, age 71, passed away on September 20, 2024. Jeff was born on January 30, 1953 in Kenosha, WI. to Richard and Janice (Petersen). The oldest of three children, Jeff was raised in Kenosha, graduating from Tremper High School in 1971. He achieved an Associate Degree in Wildlife Management through UW-Stevens Point. His love for the outdoors drew him to the Northwoods to enjoy hunting and fishing.

In 1979, he married Debbie (Plourde) and they relocated to Land O'Lakes in 1980, moving to Conover in 1982 to manage a resort on Stormy Lake. At this time Jeff was able to begin building his dream home, a log cabin in the woods where he would raise his two children. In 1981, Jeff started his own construction company, Van Caster Custom Builders. In 1993 Jeff and a handful of like minded professionals formed what is known today as the Headwaters Builders Association.

Jeff had a passion for hunting and fishing as well as a great respect for all wildlife, which never failed to awe him. He was also a diehard Packer and Brewer fan who never missed a game.

Jeff's love of the outdoors was passed on to his grandchildren who always enjoyed a ride through the woods on the UTV and checking out "Papa's" deer stand.

Jeff leaves behind his daughter, Kristen (Jeff) Shenk; their children: Owen, Avery and Eastan and his son, Joseph (Karisa) and their daughter, Charlie Jo, all of Conover. Jeff is also survived by his brother, Tom (Arron) of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan.

Private services were held and a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
