Leonard Paul Giannola

KENOSHA - Leonard Giannola, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home.
Len was born on May 28, 1964 in Kenosha, WI to Pearl (Omelianchuk) and Joseph Giannola. He graduated from Bradford High School.
On May 26, 1998 he married his longtime love, Karen England in Las Vegas, NV. Their son Matthew was born in 2000.
Len was employed for 30 years by the Kenosha Police Department, retiring in 2017 as a detective.
Len had a great sense of humor and was quite a jokester (especially with his KPD buddies). It was all about the food for Len! Both cooking and eating it. He was a great cook. Len was one of the good guys, lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Len is survived by his wife of 25 years Karen and his son Matthew. His siblings, Bon (Joe) Gogola, Sam (Brenda) Giannola, Cass Giannola; mother-in-law, Judy Darbutas; brothers-in-law, Gene (Lorri) Lerdahl, George Stoner, Don England and Michael (Sue) Cardinali; nephews, Mike (Tracy) Gogola, Brian Gogola, Danny and Joey Cardinali; his nieces, Jamie Gogola and Gina (Frank) Montemurro.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Giannola, Jr.; sisters, Jacklind Stoner and Janet Cardinali; father-in-law, Al Darbutas; brother-in-law, Ron England, nephew, David Lerdahl.

Memorial services honoring Len's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Piasecki Funeral Home. A gathering for Len will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Kenosha Police Officer's Charities, 1213 55 St., Suite 201, Kenosha, WI 53140 would be appreciated.
