Madelyne Thuot Obituary
April 6, 1938 - October 31, 2025
Madelyne "Carol" Thuot, 87, of Springstead, Wisc., passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2025. Born in Anderson, Ind., to Wilbur (Bill) and Marjorie (Weyrough) Watkins, Carol moved to Kenosha in 1947 with her family, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1956. In 1962, she married Norman Fred Thuot, and together they owned and operated Double EE Resort, where they proudly welcomed guests for many years. She retired in Springstead in 2003. Carol is survived by her daughter, Kathyann (Earl) Stoyer; grandchildren, Kristi Nickerson, Jessica Tavolacci, and Donald (Meghan) Stoyer; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents; and brother, Lee Watkins. She loved all animals, especially dogs along with nature and wildlife, reading, card games and crosswords, casinos, and traveling. She was a longstanding member of her local cribbage club.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catkins Animal Rescue in Park Falls or the Springstead Resale Shop.
