Nancy J. Terwall

May 22, 1951 - April 28, 2021

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI - Nancy J. Terwall, 69, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, after a brave battle with brain cancer.

Nancy was born in Chicago, IL on May 22, 1951, to the late George and LaVerne (nee O'Neil) Schweizer. She was educated in the schools of Chicago and graduated from Kelvyn Park High School, class of 1969. She continued her education at Moser Secretarial College in Chicago and began her career with Brunswick Corporation where she remained for ten years before joining Abbott Laboratories where she spent 18 years in various administrative and customer service positions. In 1997 Nancy took on her most cherished assignment, raising her daughter Michelle while managing the household and engaging in various volunteer activities.

In November of 1977 Nancy was united in marriage with Robert Terwall in Chicago, IL and they enjoyed 43 years together. She gave birth to her only child and best friend, Michelle, in January of 1989.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert of Pleasant Prairie; daughter, Michelle of Oak Creek, WI; sisters: Sharon (Jorge) Cabrisas of Saint Johns, FL and Carol (Bob) Caridei of Springstead, WI; brother-in-law, James (Karen) Terwall of Somers, WI; sisters-in-law, Joanne Terwall of Racine, WI and Patricia (Pat) Faulk of Racine, WI. She is also survived by nephews: Gregg and Mark (Denise) Terwall; and nieces: Denise (Drew) Cataline, Jackie (John) Scaramuzzi, Katie and Amy Faulk, Bethany (Eric) Barfell, and Meredith (Reuben) Chavez. She is further survived by countless friends, some life-long, others newly made, as she touched many lives and very deeply in her time with us. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Marilee Terwall.

Nancy will be remembered for her giving spirit, always available to help both friends and strangers. Whether Confirmation classes, mentoring school children, working at the homeless shelter, or just being a friend, Nancy's too short life was well lived for the impact she made on so many.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Proko Funeral Home, from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Avenue, Racine, WI, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private interment ceremony will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park and a reception will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Conway Farms Golf Club, 425 Conway Farms Drive, Lake Forest, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy's name would be appreciated to Calvary Memorial Church or the homeless shelter at Shalom Center, 4314 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53144.
