Paul Steffensen

Paul Steffensen was born in Oak Park, Illinois to Margaret & Paul Steffensen. His father's ministry took them all around the country, but they still came back to settle deep roots in the Midwest with Paul spending the majority of his youth in Somers, WI. The adventurous and curious spirit instilled in him by his parents gave Paul the courage to explore the world even further: his dedicated 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy included duty stations on land, submarines and ships stretching from CT, CA, HI and across the Pacific. He took every opportunity to fully immerse himself in the surrounding cultures and enjoy everything life had to offer from scuba diving, hunting, hiking, fishing, and the folks around him. His leadership qualities were recognized early on in his decorated Naval career and paralleled in his personal life as he loved being a divemaster, Boy Scout leader, gun safety instructor and road captain of his Harley Owners Group. Upon retirement, Paul and his two children moved back to WI where he transferred his expansive military experience of electrical and hydraulic repair and mechanical fabrication into a skilled fixer of all things. As owner and operator of Paul's Locks & Doors for 25+ years, he served Southeastern WI residents and businesses alike in any and all of their lock, door, security and construction needs. He traveled all around the world and earned many titles, but his favorite was Grampa. Paul was a big guy with a big heart whose presence is deeply missed by his family, friends and community. A public celebration honoring Paul will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 31st at The HOG Room of Uke's Harley-Davidson 5995 120th Ave. Kenosha, WI with an honorary ride to follow.
