Robert May Sr.

1938 - 2026

Robert C. "Bob" May, Sr., passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Shawano, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on June 7, 1938, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Henry and Frieda May. He graduated from Kenosha High School in 1956. That same year, he married his high school sweetheart, Barb Manke, who preceded him in death in 2009.

Bob dedicated many years of service to AMC/Chrysler, retiring in 1998. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement, dividing his time between Tucson, Arizona, and Keshena, Wisconsin. In his later years, Bob cherished time spent with family and friends. He loved taking cruise trips, flying RC airplanes, and trying his luck at blackjack.

Family meant everything to Bob. It was especially important to him to stay connected with his extended family, and he made sure his children grew up close to their cousins, creating lifelong bonds and treasured memories.

Bob is survived by his children: Robert C. May Jr. (Terry), Lori Karasti (Gary), Greg May (Barb), David May (Sharon), and James May (Jacqueline). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and his loving partner, Betty Lemke.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
