1931 - 2014

Ruth Uhlenhake, 82, years old of Bristol, Wis., passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at St. Catherines Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.

She was born July 1, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Stark) Czapar, settling in Bristol with her family. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Bristol, Wis.; former member of the Northern, Ill., Conservation Club and Women of the Moose Chapter 735, Antioch; and enjoyed taking care of her yard, garden and spending time with her family.

On Jan. 31, 1953, she married Gerald Carney in Antioch, Ill., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1975. On June 30, 1980, she married Charles Uhlenhake in Las Vegas, Nev., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2010.

Survivors include four children, Kathy (Roger) Wilcox of Lindenhurst, Ill., Janet (Richard) Johnson of Trevor, Wis., Jerry (Tracy) Carney of Twin Lakes, Wis., and Linda (Dean) Kangas of Kenosha, Wis.; three grandchildren, Daniel Johnson, Cristine (James) Koch, and Riley Kangas; two great grandchildren, Candence Koch and Jackson Koch; a brother, Michael (Nancy) Czapar of Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary (Norman) Rockow and Dolores Magiera.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday May 24, 2014, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Scholastica Cemetery, Bristol, Wis. Please sign the online guest book for Ruth at
