Ann Huguelet Obituary

Ann Clay McLoney Huguelet

July 25, 1961 - August 28, 2025

Lexington, Kentucky - Ann Clay McLoney Huguelet, 64, of Paris, Kentucky, died on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from a 10 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on July 25, 1961, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, to Thorne Clay McLoney and Anna Ruth Lebus McLoney.

A proud native of Cynthiana, Ann was a graduate of Harrison County High School and attended University of Kentucky, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Throughout her career, she worked in banking, sales, and marketing before embracing her most cherished role as a domestic engineer. She had a true passion for the art of wrapping packages that led to a very special relationship in her life. Ann was a gratified graduate of the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program and a member of the Junior League of Lexington.

Ann wore her small-town roots like a badge of honor, knowing exactly who she was and from where she came. That brilliant authenticity was her superpower, and being in her light had a way of grounding you. She was a beautiful force to be reckoned with, and her quick-witted way with words would leave you smiling for days. No one could make you belly laugh as effortlessly as Annie; she was a natural in every way. Her advice, whether in life's big decisions or the small dilemmas of daily living, was always clear, thoughtful, and refreshingly candid, yet delivered with unwavering compassion.

She had a passion for hosting family and friends for her celebrated Sunday Night Feast, a cherished weekly tradition of food, family, and fellowship. It was a time when everyone gathered to share a home-cooked meal, catch up on stories, no cell phone viewing allowed and simply enjoy being present together. The table was always a little too crowded, the laughter a little too loud, and the secrets were abundant. It brought her greatest joy to be with the ones she loved most.

A true and passionate dog lover through and through, her life was enriched by many breeds, especially her beloved smooth-haired fox terriers and labrador retrievers. She was a familiar and welcome sight at the Patrick Brannon Memorial Dog Park in Paris, KY, where she spent countless hours with a cherished circle of friends and their fellow canine family members. Her passion for dogs was a defining characteristic, bringing her true joy and a deep sense of connection.

Most importantly, Annie will be remembered for a life lived with unwavering devotion to her family-not only by blood, but also those she and Guy believed were family by bonds nurtured over shared meals, whispered confidences, and the mutual lifting of burdens. Her love was steadfast and generous, while her wit brightened days and lightened the burdens of those around her. She showed us that family is both a refuge and a celebration, and that laughter is a sacred thread, binding together the beautiful tapestry she helped weave.

Ann is survived by her husband of 40 years, Guy Alexander Huguelet III; her children, Guy Alexander Huguelet IV (Kaitlyn) and Thorne Clay Huguelet; and her grandchildren, Caroline Hadley Huguelet and Guy Alexander Huguelet V. She is also survived by her mother, Anna Ruth Lebus McLoney; her aunts, Mary Laverne Boston, June Wilson Erla, Jenny Jo Becher; her cousins, Ginger Boston (Michelle Jacques), Joe Boston, Virginia Beth Hutton, Jeff Hutton, and Chris Hutton; and her nephews, Alex Hellmann (Megan), Charlie Hellmann (Joanne), and JB Hellmann (Katie); and niece, Lizzie Hellmann.

Ann had such a heart for others, and her love was palpable. She lived by example and was so vested in supporting and empowering others. Blessed are all who were fortunate enough to receive her one-of-a-kind love; it always left its mark. She was, and will forever be, unforgettable. Her legacy lives on in our memories and in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She will be missed forever.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at Milward-Broadway, 159 North Broadway, 4:00 -7:00 PM. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Friday, September 5th, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 533 E Main St, Lexington, KY.

So very saddened by this! Oh, how I remember her being such a "huge smile" every day! It has been many years since our paths have crossed, and Clay has grown up and away from The Silver Rattle days.
I am sending the family (and friends) prayers of love and strength
