Anna Hendren Obituary
August 6, 2025
Lexington, Kentucky - Anna Reid Hendren, age 96, passed away on August 6, 2025. Born in Fleming County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Mary Davis and Graydon Reid. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, J.C. Hendren; sister, Winifred Dutton; brothers, retired Air Force T/Sgt. James C. Reid, Billy B. Reid, Paul T. Reid, and Scotty Reid; half-brother, Robert D. Reid; and niece, Trudie Jean Metzer. A graduate of Midway College, Anna devoted over four decades to the Lexington Herald-Leader and was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, where she served faithfully on the Altar Guild. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Karen L. Hendren of Lexington; stepdaughter, Jackie M. Hendren (Mike) of Vista, CA; sister, Lois Jean Reid of Lexington; half-brothers, Francis Kissick Jr. (Jennifer) and Jerry Kissick (Paula) of Flemingsburg; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Milward – Man O' War, 1509 Trent Blvd. Reception will begin at 1 p.m. and sharing of memories at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lexington Humane Society, Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge, or the Alzheimer's Association in Anna's memory.
