Mt. Sterling, Kentucky - Anna Herta Shelley, 82, of Mt. Sterling passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at Homestead Post Acute, Lexington, KY. She was born in Lichtenfels, Germany on September 23, 1940 to the late Max Luther and Hilda Plausch Luther. She attended Pine Grove Church and worked at Windsor Care Center. She is survived by sons, Rainer Shelley (Sheri) of Fleming Island, Fl, Donnie Shelley of Lexington, KY and Larry Shelley (Angie) of Mt. Sterling, KY; daughter, Sonia McCarty (Pat) of Carlisle, KY; brother, Willy Luther of Lichtenfels, Germany; sister, Muchie Luther of Lichtenfels, Germany; grandchildren, Samuel Shelley (Madison), Jessica Shelley (Joey), Nicklaus McCarty (Page) and Carlton McCarty; great grandchildren, Brionna Woody, Brittni Woody, Brian Woody, Jr., and Bricen Woody.In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Shelley; brothers, Helmut, Hines, Verner, Wilhelm, Herbert and Horst; sisters, Lisa and Helga; and granddaughter, Heather Woody. Funeral services will be held 12 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Shoemaker and Sheri Shelley to speak and Pastor Eddie Vittitoe to officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Monday, January 23, 2023 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Samuel Shelley, Nicklaus McCarty, Carlton McCarty, Angie Duncan, Danny Elam and Melinda Rollings.
