Benjamin Gorham Obituary

LAWRENCEBURG - Benjamin William Gorham Jr., 85, North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, died Thurs., June 23, 2005 at the Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles. He was born December 13, 1919 in Anderson County to the late Ben Will and Mary Jane Clutgston Gorham. He was an Army pilot in WWII, and was well known for having been a pilot instructor in the Blue Grass area for 63 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, and former member of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. He was the owner of Robinson and Gorham Oil Company, and previous owner of the Texaco Station. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Frances Scott Conner Gorham of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Nell Ballard Whitehead, and her husband, Carlton, of Texas; two sons, Sam Conner, and his wife, Barrie, and Jimmy Dan Conner, and his wife, Rhonda Jo, both of Louisville; two brothers, Carl Gorham, and his wife, Emily, Lexington, Jack Gorham, and his wife, Margaret, Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Caroline, Frances Clay, Katelyn, and James Daniel Conner, all of Louisville. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Wurtenberger, and Anne Makley, and two brothers, Julian Robert Gorham, and Richard Allen Gorham. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am Sat., June 25, 2005 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Charles McDonald officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service. Gash Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements. Guestbook at Legacy.com
