Betty Reed Simpson

Betty Reed Simpson, 82, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Ashland, passed away August 13, 2003. Born February 24, 1921 in Guthrie, OK, raised in Clark and Montgomery County, KY. Betty was the widow of William C. "Bill" Simpson, Jr. She is survived by her five children, William C. Simpson III of Naples, FL, Clydeanne "Cissy"  Simpson Blevins of Ft. Thomas, KY, John R. Simpson of Georgetown, KY, Byron G. Simpson of Naples, FL and H. Stanley Simpson of Georgetown, KY. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Sydney, Brandy, Laurie, Will, Xan, Kelly, Amy, Brigitte, Tyler, Lucy, Lila, B.G. Travis and Caroline and 7 great grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Jordan, Joseph, Chloe, Will and Braedyn. Betty was a member of PEO and First Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton where she served as a deacon and on various committees. Betty was a former member of First Presbyterian Church Ashland. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland followed by interment at the Ashland Cemetery.
