Charles Hamilton Obituary

GEORGETOWN- Charles Kavanaugh Hamilton, 46, of Elk Lick Road in Sadieville, KY & the husband of Carolyn Courtney Hamilton died, Fri., Jan. 23, 2004. He was the son of Charles W. & Irma Louise Sutherland Hamilton. He was a member of Dry Run Baptist Church, graduate of UK, Officer in the Scott Co. F.F.A. Alumni & a recipient of the Outstanding National F.F.A.program, helped with Speaking & Judging Contest & with his diligent efforts over the past 12 years the Scott Co. F.F.A. has won the Alumni Chapter in the State of KY. He was President and served a current Treasurer of the Chapter. He was at all fund raisers and was usually seen at the grill flipping ribeyes. He recruited over 150 members for the Alumni Chapter, was on the State Council and traveled across the state to recruit other Alumni members and get ne chapters started. With his efforts the local chapter has given out over $100,000 in Scholarships and sponsorships. He was a great father figure, a good listener to all students and a wonderful friend to the Agriculture at the Scott County F.F.A. Charles was the District Manager with the United States Department of Agriculture in Rural Development. Survivors beside his wife and parents are, a daughter; Brianna Hamilton of Sadieville, KY Stepson, Ryan Hayden of Sadieville, Step-granddaughter, Alissa Sanders of Sadieville and Step children, Mica Dryer and Gina Phelps. Funeral services will be 11 am, Tues., Jan. 27, 2004 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Walters & Bro. Rodney Courtney officiating. Burial will be at the Georgetown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Hayden, Lewis Elliott, James Tackett, Jimmy Hamilton, Dale Glass, Sam Newcomb. Honorary bearers will be Members of the Scott County F.F.A. Alumni. Visitation will be at the funeral home Mon. from 5-9 pm. Memorials may be made to: Scott County F.F.A. As a co-worker of Charlie,s I feel he was a very good, honest and reliable,person.Along with being very devoted to his family and friends. He will sadly be missed by all of us.

I was very lucky to have Charlie as a father. He was a great person and I know he touched many lives. He was always so proud of the FFA and everything it stands for. He will be greatly missed by all!

i didn't know mr.hamilton very well but from what i did know of him threw the many things he did threw the ffa,he was a great guy and will be missed by all of the ffa.to his famliy i'm very sorry for you loss
