Danny Bailey Obituary

Danny Keith Bailey

January 27, 1954 - March 8, 2024

Winchester, Kentucky - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Danny Keith Bailey, who departed this earthly world on Friday, March 8, 2024, in the ICU at UK Chandler Hospital, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1954, in Mt. Sterling to Bessie and Joe Bailey. Danny was a devoted husband, sharing 53 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Debbie Jean Bailey. Together, they created a loving and enduring family. He is survived by his three children, Karen Atkins (Kevin) of Lexington, Kathryn "Kathy" Karnes (Noah) of Winchester, and Joey Bailey (Brena) of Winchester. Danny was a cherished grandfather, finding joy in spending time with his four grandchildren, Amelia Karnes, Chase Karnes, Gabriel Bailey, and Aleph Bailey. Additionally, he is survived by his sibling, Robin Bailey. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gary Bailey, and his sister, Patricia Chandler. Danny's life was marked by dedication and service. After working as a baker at Thompson's IGA, he became a respected and dedicated employee of Community Trust Bank as the Regional Facilities Manager for an impressive 41 years until his well-deserved retirement in 2022. A devout Christian, Danny was a member of the First Baptist Church. He embraced the teachings of the Lord with all his heart, finding solace and strength in his faith. Known for his positive and generous spirit, Danny will be fondly remembered for his uncanny sense of humor. He firmly believed in the healing power of laughter and generously shared his jokes with anyone willing to listen. Danny's very presence enriched the lives of all those around him. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering loyalty left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting friendships. Danny Keith Bailey's funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 1 pm at First Baptist Church, 32 East Lexington Avenue, Winchester, with Dr. Keith Felton presiding. Visitation will be from 11 am until the hour of service. There will be a committal service for family on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Rolan G Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. May Danny's soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who loved him.
