Diana Burke

PARIS - My name is Diana Lynn Burke. I died on December 7, 2014 at my home. I was preceded in death by Nelma Ruth Buckler Burke and Stewart Gillis Burke. I am survived by my brother, Gary Lee (Lela) Burke and my nieces, Mylanda (Steve) Allison Burke Oliver, Erin (Jon) Whitney Burke Sebastian; great-nieces and nephews, Hunter and Karlee Sebastian and Abigail and Blake Oliver; my dog, Taffy; and numerous cousins, friends and my church family at Bluegrass United Church of Christ. Whoever I am today, I owe to God, my parents, family, friends and teachers. I have tried to live my life thinking of others and loving my neighbor. There were many times I failed as a daughter, sister, aunt, relative, friend and Christian. Even with all my failures, I hope I was able to show love and kindness, or bring hope and laughter to you in some way. As a human being, I tried to help those less fortunate than me and by doing so became a better person for my efforts. My love for people was endless and I loved to throw a party. In fact I am throwing my last party today. I loved life and all the ups and downs it had to offer. Through the help of God I was able to tackle any situation I was dealt. As I leave this earth I want your memory to be one of fun, laughter and song. I'll be waiting for you in heaven and we'll throw the biggest party ever. Goodbye for now, - Diana. Funeral services will be conducted at 7pm Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the funeral home. A celebration of Life will be 2pm Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Masterson Station Park, Lexington, KY. Honorary pallbearers will be a very special friend, Vivien Smith, Trish Mazzoni, Sonya Anderson, Sally Bussell, Shirley Lyons, Lib Wilson, Lynn Fitzgerald, Theresa Renn, Taunya Huff, Taunya Reed, Judy Cox, Carolyn Preston, B.J.
