Emma Jean Cavenee

July 30, 1932 - January 15, 2025

Lexington, Kentucky - Emma Jean Wooden Cavenee, 92, widow of William Joseph (Bill) Cavenee, passed away peacefully January 15, 2025 on Saint Simons Island. Born in Hart County, Kentucky, she was the youngest child of Charlie and Emily Wooden. Taught the value of hard work and sacrifice from an early age, she grew up on her family's farm with a strong work ethic that she valued throughout her life. She retired from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy after 30 years of dedicated service. Her greatest joys in life were family, faith, friends, UK sports, sewing, and taking care of her beloved family pets.

She is survived by her five loving children, Lou Ann Cavenee-Ramos, Kent (Jeana) Cavenee, Scott Cavenee (Tracy), Marla Cavenee (Jack), and Todd Cavenee; grandchildren, Elena Ramos (Freddey), Tony Ramos (Elaine), Viana (Tyran) Gerton, Jordan (Eric) Goff, Lucas Nalley, and Benjamin Abney; great grandchildren, Isaiah Gerton, Charleigh Gerton, T.W. Goff, Winnie Goff, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, January 27th 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Milward – Southland located at 391 Southland Drive, Lexington. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 28th at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church located at 485 W 4th St., Lexington, KY 40508. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
