Horse Cave, Kentucky - Gary Stephen "Steve" Bale died November 22, 2020 at his home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Steve was born January 18, 1948 in Horse Cave, Kentucky to Lyndon and Lavone (Hay) Bale.
After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, Steve had a fulfilling career as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch for 42 years.
Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat Bale and their daughter, Kaelin. At his request, no services will be held.

Pat, I am so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I’ll always remember our first meeting - at our front door, looking for a house for sale downtown. It worked too! Later as a client, I always relished my meetings with him. He was always quite proper in his demeanor, but made me think I was so clever. When I was looking for a financial counselor for my Father, a competitor expressed concerned that I had not chosen him. When I told him I had chosen Steve, he said, “No problem, you’ll be in good hands.” His integrity was impressive. He decided to leave the financial world before he got old and might not realize that he was no longer able to handle his clients in the manner he desired. I wish you and your family the best. Bill

Pat and Kaelin, I just learned of Steve’s passing and offer my deepest sympathies. Steve will always be remembered with fondness for his wit and his friendship. He was one of the Yantis family’s favorite people.

Pat, Rosemary and I were terribly sorry to learn of Steve’s passing. In addition to being our financial adviser for over twenty years, he was good friend and a very special person. I have fond memories of our poker games at your home on Third Street in the late seventies. We hope you and Kaelin can find some degree of peace this Christmas season.
