GRAVES Glenna Ritchie, 89, passed away at her home (Leafland) surrounded by her family. She was born October 27th, 1926 in Lexington, KY, the eldest child of Virginia Corbin and Andrew Oscar Ritchie. Glenna was a devoted wife and loving mother to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and "adopted" children. She was a great cook and hostess for many and all who came to her door. Glenna was an avid gardener and lover of birds, flowers, beaches and sea shells. Her love has touched many in the world. She was a member of Walnut Hill Church, Central Kentucky Women's Club, Fayette County Women's Club, The Garden Club of Lexington and the Lexington Women's Club Follies. She was especially proud of her role in conducting spring tours for the young people of Central Kentucky. She was a graduate of the University High School and was educated at Auburn University. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Jacob "Jake" Hughes Graves III; her sister, Andrea Watson; eight children, Jennie (Jerry) Clow, Lineville, Iowa; Jake IV (Pam) Graves, Lexington; Laura (Dee) Proctor, Lexington; Melonie Graves, Lexington; Andy (Margaret) Graves, Lexington; Lucy (Logan) Foster, Lexington; Ben (Mike) Graves, Seattle; and Dan (Lambsy) Graves, Lexington; twenty-two grandchildren; Laura Castor, Gary Weddington, Callie, Jacob, and James Clow, Julie McKeel, Jake Graves V, John and Janet Graves, Melonie and Del Proctor, Kirtley and Loyd Amos, Anna Wiley and Glenna Graves, Ward Saunier, Louise and George Foster, and Liz, Will, Ann, and Clai Graves; ten great-grandchildren, Nate and Jennie Castor, Sophia and Riley Weddington Maggie and Sam Gover, Solomon McKeel, Marshall Graves, Leo and Parker Proctor; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jolly Graves; and her sister, Beverly Burns. Services will be 11am Monday at Milward Man-O-War conducted by Rev. Mike Ward, with burial to follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 4-7pm Sunday. Mrs. Graves is a true wonderful southern lady. So kind, gentle, and loving. I have enjoyed so much over the years visiting with her. I remember one time, she said that getting old isn't for Sissys! How true is that? She reminds me a lot of my own mother and maybe that is what I like so much about her. I am so blessed to have known her and remember her. My heart is with the Graves, who are a wonderful family. Stay strong together and talk about your memories. It is important to remember! Love you all, Kay Brown

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mrs. Graves was one of the most incredible women I have ever known. She was most loving, kind and joyful. I have so many cherished memories of her that I will keep in my heart forever. She was a true blessing in my life and to everyone she knew. I will never forget her. What a rich and full life she had. May GOD keep you all in his loving arms and comfort you at this time.

Mrs. Graves you were a wonderful lady that touched my heart forever! I will remember all the wonderful times you welcomed me in to your home as a friend to your daughter Lucy!! I will never forget when we were eating at the large table with the lazy susan and I spun it and salad went everywhere but you said not to worry. That was who you were. I know God has a special place in heaven for you.
