December 28, 1943 - February 26, 2025
Lexington, Kentucky - James M Hatfield passed away at 81 years old on Wednesday, February 26th 2025. Jim Hatfield, also known as "Coach" was born in Maryville, TN. His coaching career included University of Kentucky, Mississippi State, Murray State and the US Virgin Islands, where he also served as Athletic Director, building the program and enriching the community.
He is survived by his wife Faye and his sister Doris, his three children, Angie, Jim and Lisa as well as 8 grandchildren, Michael, Dylan, Grace, William, Jax, Preston, Andrew and Anna.
Visitation will be Thursday February 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 at Southern Hills United Methodist Church located at 2356 Harrodsburg Rd Lexington, KY. Visiting Hours will be held from 11:00am - 1:00pm prior to the Funeral Service which will be held Friday February 28th at 1:00. Burial will follow at the Winchester Cemetery.

Remember having dinner w Coach Hatfield & Larry Ivy in Park City Ut in 1985 @ LaCaille Leonard Hamilton drove us up there..but never returned to get us..Larry was not so happy Coach Hatfield was laughing his butt off. He always was smiling.
