I miss you, James. When I visit your grave I want to lay down and just melt into the ground beside it.I'm wearing your watch every day, but I've promised myself that when the year ends, I'll stop, so then maybe I won't obsess so much about losing you....There were alot of good things about you that I want the world to know: Your incredible gift of observation and understanding; your intuitive ability to figure out what motivated people; your use of that gift to acommplish goals; your incredible desire to learn and grow and become better; your lack of inhibitions and readiness to reach out to complete strangers, which was both amusing and inspiring; your adventursome spirit; your compassion and loyalty and willingness to help other people. James, so many people miss you. Your mother, whose comfort was top priority for you; your Dad and Kay, who had become an everyday part of your life and who you loved and respected; Scott, for whom you were so much more than a brother; Vigny, your sisters, your neices and nephews, and friends both new and old who found you easy to be with and never judgmental, and most of all, all your kids from the park and the HB mailing list....You know I made my position clear about why we couldn't be together in the end. Now I think maybe that was stupid. I'm just so glad I got to tell you one last time that I love you. Peace be with you, James.

James was a good friend to my sons, Joe & Mike when we lived in the Tates Creek area. And Barbara, you probably don't remember me, but we grew up together. My last name was Gray at the time. Your son made me laugh several times when he visited my home.

I knew James in highschool. He was such a fun, outgoing person. Every time I saw him, he was in a good mood. He was my boyfriend for about two weeks when I was sixteen, and I always remember him smiling.

To his friends and family: you are in my thoughts.
