Gilbert, Arizona - Dr. James H. Patterson, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on September 2, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born in Birmingham, AL on January 22, 1939. Jim's character can best be described as a man who was kind and patient towards others and deeply committed to the care of his patients. He desired to live his life under the direction and lordship of Jesus Christ and that was evident as attested to by his high moral integrity.
He fell in love and married "the love of his life", Terry in Anchorage, AK. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past June. Jim practiced pediatric ophthalmology for 18 years in Alaska. He went on to practice in Lexington, Kentucky for an additional 20 years. After retiring, he and Terry moved to Thompson Station, Tennessee. His life has been greatly enriched through his two daughter's families and five grandchildren. He is remembered for his commitment to his patients, his intense love of his family, and his devotion to his Lord.
