John Browning Obituary

SCIENCE HILL - John O. Browning, beloved father and grandfather, 86, of Hilltop Drive in Nancy, Kentucky, passed away Sat, July 19, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Paint Lick, Kentucky on March 25, 1922, son of the late William K. and Lula (Underwood) Browning. He was a farmer and a security guard for Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran with the Infantry division during the Normandy invasion at Omaha Beach, receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze star. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Waynesburg, KY. He is survived by two sons, John Michael Browning of Frankfort, KY and Randall Lee Browning of Richmond, KY, one daughter, Karen Kay Greer of Lexington, KY, one brother, Carl Browning of Richmond, three sisters, Christine Sebastian of Lancaster, KY, Birdie Jane Duerson of Berea, KY and Myrtie Naylor of Lexington, KY, five grandchildren, Richard Aaron Greer, Jacob Daniel Greer, April Lynn Luster, Kami Lee Scarboro and Michael Brandon Browning and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Luster, Michael Landon Luster and Caleb Scarboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Adams) Browning, his parents and one brother, Frank Browning. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Wed, July 23, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 6pm today at the funeral home.
