John was born in Detroit MI, his family moved to Lexington when he was in high school and he met Judy Robinson at Lexington Catholic and got married in 1968. He graduated from EKU and worked mainly in water treatment and sales for his career. He was a faithful member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary and was a eucharistic minister for a long time. He also really enjoyed helping to "count the money" after church services. He loved his volunteer work. He had a 10 gallon blood donor medal from the Blood Center, and he was proud to also do apheresis (platelet donation) He really enjoyed the free snacks for the KBC and his wardrobe was mostly free blood center shirts! He did water samples from local creeks and streams, he took communion to nursing homes and really enjoyed all of "his ladies" he met there. John's true love of life was his family and extended family. He never missed an event – baseball games, dance recitals, lacrosse games, etc. He drove his granddaughter Claire to dance practice for 11 years. John was quite a character; he was famous for being cheap and loving coupons. He loved all of us dearly and he is really going to be missed.
Services will be Friday September 20th, at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. Visitation from 11am – 1 pm and then a memorial mass will follow.
