Dear Marvin and family: Teresa and I are very saddened to learn of the passing of your father Joseph. We are thinking about you all at this time of great loss. He was obviously a great humanist as well as father. We want you to know that although we are at a distance geographically, you are in our hearts and minds at this difficult and tumultous time.

Dear Krislov Family,

My paternal grandmother was Sarah Krislov. He and your grandfather, Rabbi Isaac, were bother and sister, and came to the USA and Cleveland, together with three other sisters, about 100 years ago.

My father and your father were first cousins.

Growing up, in the fifties and sixties, we spent a lot of time with your grandfather. His name in our home was simply, "Uncle".

My grandmother and Uncle appeared to be very close.

For some reason, tho, we never really saw too much of our Krislov cousins.

We knew Moses, but I do not think we ever met your father, Joe,

Marvin and I met a few years back, when he was at The White House, and spent some time trying to piece everyone together.

I know one of you began a Krislov family tree, some time ago. I am sure I misplaced it.

So, as 1/4 Krislov, certainly myself and the rest of the Jacob family, of which there are now 35 of us on that branch, send our sympathies on the loss of your father, who in keeping with Krislov tradition, was obviously a great and learned man.

Professor Krislov taught me Labor Economics, I loved him, he was so friendly, I actually got a "D" in his class, my only one in college, but I wasn't giving my best as I had already been accepted into law school at UK. Great mind, great guy, great life.
