For the four years I debated for the University of Kentucky from 1962 to 66, Joe was our coach and our friend. We never knew what Joe did for a living or much about his family. He talked so little about himself, but he was always sure that we´ve represented the University of Kentucky debate to the best of our ability and his ability to coach. Which was always outstanding. God bless you with sweet memories the kind we still hold for Joe.

Condolences from Dr. Preston Nunnelley, wife Clarissa Lucille, and our entire family.
I think it is safe to say that Joe had the epitome of what we would call a life well lived. No regrets, giving one´s all to the pursuit of happiness and well being......carry on!

Joe Ed was just like his brother and is father whom I both knew. You could not be around a better First Class group of individuals. I am a better person by knowing the Mainous Family. Tom Slaton

There is no way to tell how many people learned to think from working with Joe; how many learned how to use the mind to improve the lives of others. He changed my life; I hope I shared his gifts well enough to justify the time he took with me.

My love, support and sympathies to you and your families.
From what I have heard about Grandpa Joe, he was a lovely man who enriched all the lives his heart touched.
May you find comfort in the memories that you have and share, and allow his kindness to live on through you all.
