Mt. Sterling, Kentucky - Katherine "Kitty" Prewitt Greene, age 90, died on October 15, 2021 at her home, Mt. Ayr in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was born August 30, 1931 at Mary Chiles Hospital, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Lewis Greene; three children, Lauray Greene (Brad) Lybarger, Katherine Howell Greene (Mitchell) Zolman, and Annette Orear Greene (Mark) Ison; four grandchildren, Laura Katherine Zolman, Nicholas Farrell Zolman, Alexander Joseph Ison, and Benjamin Mark Ison; a brother, Robert Winn (Dianne) Prewitt; a sister-in-law, Margaret Greene; and eight nieces and nephews, Emily Catherine Greene Branscum, Henry Reid Prewitt IV, Allen James Prewitt, Robert Winn Prewitt II, Barbara Prewitt Scepura, Mary Ann Greene Lopez, Mary Beth Prewitt Vann, and Kathleen Greene Henrickson.She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Reid Prewitt II and Laura Ray Crooks Prewitt; and one brother, Henry Reid (Phyllis) Prewitt III.Mrs. Greene attended Miss Lutie Quisenberry's School for children, Mt. Sterling City Schools, and Centre College. She was a lifelong and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Sterling. She was an avid animal lover and most interested in gardening, archeology, genealogy, and world history. She was a member of the Montgomery County Historical Society, the Colonial Daughters of the 17th Century, and the Jamestown Society. There will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family only. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Sterling or the Montgomery County Historical Society. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
