Ken Carmichael Obituary

NICHOLASVILLE - Ken "Buddy" Carmichael, 54, of Winchester, formally of Nicholasville, passed away unexpectedly, Thu, Mar 4, 2010 in Winchester. Buddy was born May 12, 1955 in Fayette County to the late Henry Homer and Mary Frances McKinney. He worked at L-3 Communications, Bluegrass Army Depot, Lexington. Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf with his many friends, collecting NASCAR memorabilia, spending time in his boat and was a UK and sports fanatic. Survivors include his son, Chris (Kristina) Carmichael, Wilmore, sisters, Carol (Ronnie) Davis, Georgetown, Pamela (John) Pyros, FL, Peggy (Gene) Teater, Nicholasville, a brother, Dana (Merrelyn) Carmichael, Nicholasville, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Connie Spence. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joann Howard and Judy Burgan. Services will be 10:30am Mon at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8pm today at the funeral home. Bearers will be Mike Davis, Stanley Burgan Jr., Russell Carmichael, Jimmy Rader, Lewis Cannady and Billy Lowery. Online guestbook at www.BettwsandWestfuneralhome.com
