June 10, 1970 - August 29, 2021
Abu Dhabi, UAE, Kentucky - Lauren Rego, 51, wife of Robert Rego passed away on August 29, 2021 of heart failure. She was born in Knoxville, TN, lived in Dallas, and moved with her family to Lexington in 1979. Lauren was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and grew up in First Presbyterian Church. She later moved to Aiken, SC and spent the last seven years abroad with her adoring husband Robert.

Lauren was an animal lover, especially of cats. She spent many years rescuing, feeding and getting medical care for strays.
Lauren was amazingly kind, caring and generous. She dearly loved and cherished her many friends and family, as they did her. Her untimely death has touched many around the world, and her special life leaves blessed memories forever.
A celebration of Lauren's life will be held in Abu Dhabi on September 11, and will be held in Lexington at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lexington Humane Society, 1600 Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington KY 40504.
