Lina DRAKE Obituary

DRAKE Lina Wilson, 89, of Lexington, wife of Vaughn P. Drake, passed away Fri, Dec 23, 2011. She was born in Estill County to the late John T. Wilson and Nettie Taylor Wilson. She was the great granddaughter of Capt. John Wilson, the Union hero of the Battle of Lookout Mountain. She was preceded in death by nine sisters and one brother. She was also a long time member of Broadway Christian Church and an avid sports fan, especially of the Cincinnati Reds. As a teenager, she won many awards in Roller Figure Skating. In her thirties and forties she was a championship bowler in several Lexington Leagues. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Samuel Willis Drake, two grandsons, Anthony R. Drake and Patrick J. Drake and two great granddaughters, Mya Drake and Clara Drake. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Tue at Milward - Southland. Funeral services will be 1pm Wed at the funeral home by her nephew, Dr. J. Robert White of Duluth, Ga. and Brother Craig Yates of Broadway Christian Church. Pallbearers will be her two Grandsons, Robert Davenport, Eugene Southworth, her nephews, Barry Estes and Dennis Waldroup. Honorary bearer will be Paul Fredericks. Burial will be at the Winchester Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass. www.milwardfuneral.com
