Lisa was the person I strive to be: strong, courageous, thoughtful, kind, adventurous, funny, smart, and the list goes on. I call myself blessed to have been a part of her life. I miss our friendship already. I will think of you on so many occasions but it will never replace being in the presence of your sweet self. "A Sweet friendship refreshes the soul. "Proverbs 27:9

Seems like only a short time ago that we put on our best outfits and headed out of our dorm to go to Lexington to see our first Duran Duran concert. Boy, did that girl love Simon LeBon!! Her smile could have lit up Rupp!
I will always remember the good times with Lisa living as her suite-mate in Telford Hall. We had so much fun and shared so many experiences.
Lisa was the kind of girl that just made you feel like you'd known her all your life. She was warm, kind, caring, and absolutely hilarious. She had a knack for teaching non-country folk country humor (and sneaking cookie dough out of our fridge!).
Thank you all for sharing her with us for the time we had together. She will be missed, but I will carry those fantastic memories with me forever!

Nancy and I are deeply saddened of the loss of our friend. Eight years and four months ago Lisa and I shared an experience that changed our lives. We were two of seven lung transplant recipients preformed at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Our families soon became friends as they met and waited together during and after the surgery, and rehabilitation. During our recovery occasionally she and I would pass in the hallway, each clutching the IV pole, we made eye contact, each wishing the other success, as our faces were mostly covered with surgical masks while focused on the next step, and the step after that, and that. Short time later I met her father and her aunt, two very nice likable people full of their southern charm. I really enjoyed talking with Howard and his sister. As time went on Lisa and I stayed in contact through Face Book celebrating anniversaries of the Gift-of Life. We were so happy to see her life come alive with her new beginning. A poster child of organ transplant, and advocate of donor signups.
Lisa, you have been a credit, and inspiration to your donors family and to all those you have touched.
You can enjoy your peace and rest easy, my friend.
