Lorene SNAPP Obituary

SNAPP Lorene Elizabeth Mullins, 81, died Tuesday, (June 29, 2010), at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol, TN following a brief illness. She was born in Kingsport, lived in Lexington, KY 40 years and returned to Kingsport. Lorene worked at Blue Ridge Glass Plant in Kingsport, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Lexington KY. She was of the Christian faith attending Grace Covenant Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horrie and Mary Belle Mullins, sister, Freda Mullins, brother, Wayne and daughter, Penny McDaniel. Surviving are her daughters Brenda Parks of Austin, TX and Joetta Smith and husband Sherrill of Louisville, KY; son, Chris Snapp of Louisville, KY; sisters Letha Mullins and June Begley of Kingsport, TN; sister Cleo Cleek of Church Hill, and Carolyn Leftwich of Nashville, TN; brothers Walter Mullins of Kingsport, TN; Emory Mullins of Bristol, TN, and Gene Mullins and wife Debbie of Seattle, WA; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and 3 step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Thu(July 1, 2010) at East Lawn Funeral Home. Services will follow in the chapel at 2pm Thu with Dr. Edward Clevenger officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park's Garden of Love. Pallbearers will be Chris Snapp, Sherrill Smith, Bill Cleek, Kevin Cleek, Dana Cleek and Gene Mullins. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Grace Covenant Church, 2001 American Way, Kingsport, TN 37660. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staffs of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital for their excellent care, and to Dr. David Franzus for his support. It has been years since we have seen each other but I have so many fond memories of playing at your house in Fall Branch and coming and staying with you all when my brother was playing a basketball tournament in Louisville (I won't say how long ago that was!).
