Louis Peniston Obituary

NEW CASTLE - Louis T. (L.T.) Peniston, 85, passed away Thurs. Jan. 13, 2005 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville Inpatient Unit. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran and was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. He attended Georgetown College and University of Louisville Law School, receiving his law degree in 1946. Peniston practiced law in New Castle for 58 years; served in the Kentucky General Assembly 25 years (16 years in the House of Representatives and nine years in the Kentucky State Senate). served as a director and attorney for the Eminence Farmers Deposit Bank. He was a member of the University of Kentucky Development Council and UK Fellows. He is survived by his wife, Mac H. Peniston, New Castle; brother, William H. Peniston, Lacie; sister, Mrs. William L. (Virginia) Costel, Louisville; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be after 2 pm on Sat. Jan. 15, 2005 at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle, KY. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Sun. Jan. 16 at Prewitt Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville Inpatient Unit, Department 52420, P.O. Box 36370, Louisville, KY 40233-9901.
