Marguerite "Peggy" Johnson

1934 - 2025

Marguerite "Peggy" Lynn Johnson, 91, passed away on October 15, 2025, under the compassionate care of those at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born on August 7, 1934, Peggy dedicated her life to serving others through her long and fulfilling career in sales. Known for her unwavering commitment to her customers, she approached each interaction with creativity and care. Her passion for her work was so deep that she aspired to continue working until her final day.

Peggy had a profound love for animals-both wild and domestic. Her yard served as a haven for birds and squirrels, and she opened her heart and home to countless rescued dogs and cats over the years. Among those closest to her were her beloved kitties, Butterscotch and Callie.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Liza Gray and son-in-law Dewayne Gray; nieces and nephew Vicky Dinsmore (Randy), Mary Chase Mobley, Joe Moore (Phyllis), Kathy Johnson, and Connie Johnson. Her closest friends were a vital support system and she considered them family as well. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Apgar, and her sister Joan Apgar.

Peggy's deep affection for her family, friends, community, and country was evident in all aspects of her life. She will be laid to rest alongside her mother, father, and sister at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan at a later date.
