Marion Hall Obituary

GEORGETOWN - Marion Forwood Hall, 90, widower of Betty Anne Mauser Hall, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. Marion was a native of Scott County, son of the late Buford and Lora Forwood Hall. Marion was the third generation farmer of the Hall Farms. Marion attended Garth School and graduated from Bolles Military Academy in Jacksonville. He then went on to attend the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the SAE Fraternity and remained a lifelong avid Wildcat fan. He was a Director and Board Chairman of the former Farmers Bank and Trust Company, a former member of the Georgetown City Council, Georgetown Zoning Commission and the John Graves Memorial Hospital Board. In 1964 Marion was appointed by then Governor Ned Breathitt to the Kentucky Board of Education and was a member of the Selective Service Board for 15 years. Survivors include three children, Jeffrey W. Hall, Louisville, Buford (Debby) Hall, IV, Versailles and Lora H. (Dr. Jerry) Blair, Columbia, MO; six grandchildren, Rachel Anne Hall, Sarah Hall Beauving, Ethan Colby Hall, Morgan Sierra Hall, Taylor Maureen Blair and Anne Mckenzie Blair; three great grandchildren, Makaden Carmichael Melton, Kaya Rain Melton and Maylie Lyn Miller. Marion was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dr. Buford Hall, III and Joe Burgess Hall. Memorial services will be 2pm, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home by The Rev. Elise Johnstone with inurnment to follow in Georgetown Cemetery with military honors. There will be a memorial visitation beginning at 12pm Saturday, March 12, 2014 until time of services. Expressions of sympathy may be to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
