Matthew Waldman Obituary

On September 6th, Matthew Philip Waldman departed our world leaving family and friends behind who will forever grieve this loss. Born May 10th, 1986, Matt was the beloved son of Ric and Kathy Waldman, brother of Caleigh and Daniel Waldman, grandson of Ruthie Fay Waldman and ever loyal and compassionate friend to many. Matt had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh, both of which were fueled by his passion for life, people, and good food. An unconventional student, Matt's hard-won education at The Lexington School, Trinity-Pawling School, and Wittenberg University -- combined with his intellectual gifts and endless curiosity -- inspired all who knew him. In tribute to his passion for learning, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning's Tutoring Program. Please indicate "In Memory of Matthew Philip Waldman." Friends and family will be welcomed at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, on Sunday, September 21st at 12:30pm. The service will follow at 2pm.

Ric and Kathy, I was sorry to hear of Matt's passing. I remember well talking with him while fishing beside him at an Overbrook Farm picnic years ago. A fine young man. Will pray for your family to get through the pain
