Lexington, Kentucky - Michael Gregory Johnson, 48, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on June 6, 2021 at Williamstown Lake while spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Cosmo. Mike was born in Cincinnati, OH on Jan. 16, 1973. He grew up in Aurora, OH and attended Bowling Green State University. He and his wife, Ali, moved to Lexington in 2000 where he joined Al Torstrick Insurance Agency. He is survived by his wife of over 21 years, Allison "Ali" Torstrick Johnson, two sons, Davis Albert and Donovan Charles Johnson; his parents, Terri and Gary Johnson of Naples, FL; his sisters, Kara Pearson (Matt) and Julie Brown (Mike); and many nieces and nephews. He spent his career in the Insurance Industry and was Vice President of Al Torstrick Insurance Agency. In addition, Mike served as chair of both the Kentucky Young Insurance Professionals and the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky. He also served on the board of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers. If you knew Mike, you loved him, and he loved being in your life. He had an unbeatable sense of humor, endless bad jokes, a kind heart, and the ability to make anyone crack a smile. He was the number one supporter of his two boys and never missed a tee-ball game, soccer game, chess tournament, or marching band competition. He put his all into loving his boys, his wife, his family, and his friends (and also his Ohio State Buckeyes). Visitation will be Thurs., June 10, 2021, 4-8 pm, and funeral services will be on Fri., June 11', 2021 at 11:00 am, Milward-Man O' War, 1509 Trent Blvd., Lexington, KY. A private family burial service will take place at the Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to two of Mike's favorite organizations, Arbor Youth Services or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers in his memory. www.milwardfuneral.com

I worked with Mike in the insurance business and I considered him a friend. If you knew Mike, you loved him. He loved his family more than anything. He was so proud of his two sons. Mike lived well. My deepest sympathy to his beautiful wife Ali, and his two sons Davis and Donovan.

While I did not know Mike well, we crossed paths often at Big I and other industry events. He was always so kind and he made me laugh many times. He was such a nice guy and he will be missed. Sending prayers to his family at this difficult time.
