Paul Quinn Jr.

1936 - 2025

Paul Quinn passed peacefully in his home while accompanied by his son and daughter on October 13th, 2025. He was married to his loving wife, Dolores C. Quinn, for 68 years.

Paul is survived by his two sisters, Pat Miller and Kathleen Saunders; two children, William and Susan Quinn; and four grandchildren, Silas Almgren, Wils, Jack, and Charlie Quinn.

He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1936. He attended D.C. public schools and raised homing pigeons in the coop that he built by hand in his backyard. The family moved to Falls Church, Va., where he graduated from high school.

Paul attended the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute for two years and took night classes at the University of Maryland.

He began working with IBM in Washington, D.C., in 1959 as a Customer Engineer and later transferred to Lexington, Kentucky, where he worked in the IBM development laboratory. He was awarded six patents and authored several technical publications.

Paul served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Air Squadron VMF-321 for eight years in both Anacostia, D.C., and Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

He was a member of the Georgetown Kiwanis Club for several years.

Paul chose an early retirement plan at age 54 after working at IBM for 31 years. He worked at Lexmark for an additional four years before his final retirement.

He built a beautiful waterfront retirement home at Mallard Point Lake in Scott County, Ky., where our family enjoyed boating, swimming, and fishing for more than 30 years.

A Celebration of Life service for Paul will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 2 at Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Rd. with Minister Ronnie Hupp officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. till the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

He often said, "It has been a great life."
