So Sorry to hear of Mr. Woolsey passing. He was a wonderful teacher. He was my 9th grade math teacher in Pineville. We had just moved there from Florida and I had never seen snow before. While in class it suddenly started snowing. I was looking out the window and shocked and delighted at what I was seeing. He let me go outside to experience it. It was wonderful. I remember the moment always with affection.

September 30, 2014

My sincere condolences go out to the Woolsey family. I well remember Ray's tenure as Superintendent of Schools in Logan County, West Virginia. He always showed respect toward me as a member of the local news media and never sidestepped a question no matter how sensitive it might have been. I believe he coached Gilbert football for a short time as well.

Football Coach at Pineville High Scool was my fondest memory of Coach Woolsey from the chuckle when he laughed and the seriousness when he meant business on that ball bus to and from games. I was so fortunate to know he and later on his family and beautiful daughter Dawn, and son Brian through sport activities as they were growing up. Dawn and Brian and the Woolsey family you are in my thoughts and prayers.
