Richard Hacker Obituary

HACKER, Richard Dale (Dick), 71, Clarkdale Court, Lexington, died Sept. 27, 2005 at Central Baptist Hospital. He was the son of the late Seldon and Alpha Hacker of Madison Co. and was preceeded in death by a sister, Geneva Hacker Downey and a brother, Bert Art Hacker. He graduated from Waco High School in 1953, attended Eastern Ky. University and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member, former Deacon and Treasurer of Trinity Baptist Church in Lexington. He was a former IBM Dept. Manager, a regional supervisor for Bell & Howell technical schools and the Radio Shack Co. He was owner/operator of the Radio Shack in Winchester and Gold Shack, Tan Shack and Internet Inc. in Lexington. He was an avid UK Wildcat Basketball Fan. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Turpin Hacker; a daughter, Michele Hacker (John Graham), of Lexington; a son, Kevin Hacker, of Cincinnati; two sisters, Joan Holly (Tim), of Xenia, OH and Peggy Spradlin (Bob), of Mt. Sterling; several special nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 pm Sat., Oct. 1, 2005, at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Richmond with Dr. Rick Landon and Rev. Jeff Story officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 pm Sat. at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tim Holly, Bob Spradlin, Jimmy Plummer, Durwood Turpin, Larry Turpin, Mark Banahan, Dale Holly, James Story, John Graham and Joe Dan Downey.
