Robert Chenault Obituary

PARIS - Robert Chenault, 77, of Paris, husband of Mayme (Sweat) Chenault was born on Sun, Sep 1, 1929 and departed this life on Tue, June 5, 2007 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Richmond, KY, son of the late Henry and Gertrude Chenault. He joined the Farristown Baptist Church (Berea, KY) at an early age. As an adult, he drove the bus for the Madison County School System. He was also a hard earned recipient of the Light Heavy Weight Golden Gloves Champion of Kentucky in 1956. After moving to Paris, KY, he joined the Zion Baptist Church, where he became a Deacon and a member of the Finance Committee. He was employed by Runneymede, Golden Chance and the Steelway Farms for over 40 years. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Indian Creek Farm, where he had worked for 17 years. Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves to cherish four sons, R.D. Chenault, Gary (Julie) Chenault and Terry (Sandy) Chenault, all of Lexington and Gene (Deborah) Chenault of Smyrna, TN; six grandchildren; one sister, Minnie Brooks of Dayton, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be 1pm Sat, June 9th at the Zion Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens. Rev. Richard Adair will preside over the services. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Sat at the church. Memorial gifts may go to the Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
