Lexington, Kentucky - Robert Campbell Rummell, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully Friday, April 2, 2021. Bob was born in Huntington, West Virginia on July 28, 1940 to the late Robert Campbell Rummell, Sr. and Martha (Bohart) Rummell. He attended Marshall University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. He married Jane Ann Wilson on August 11, 1962 in Chelyan, West Virginia, and after the birth of their two children, Robert Campbell Rummell, III and Kathryn Ann Rummell, the family moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1968. Bob worked as an electrical contractor, owning his own business for several years before working at K.E. Jockell & Associates, and later retiring from CED. Outside of his work life, Bob served in the Lions Club, sang in the Southern Hills United Methodist Church Choir and the Lexington Singers, and maintained a steady presence at his beloved High Street YMCA. Beginning in childhood, Bob vacationed with family on Manitoulin Island in Ontario, Canada. Following his retirement in 2007, he and Jane Ann spent summers at their island cottage; it was his favorite place in the world, his true home. Bob is survived by daughter Kathryn (Steven Budke) Rummell and brother, Richard Bohart (Sandra) Rummell. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Rummell, III, and his wife, Jane Ann Rummell. A private memorial service will held at Wednesday, April 7th at Southern Hills United Methodist Church and can be live-streamed by visiting the church website.
