Lexington, Kentucky - Sharon Scully Ahern, born September 4, 1944 to the late James F. and Guilda Scully in Covington, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 24th surrounded by family. She is survived by her children Shannon Gahafer (Steve) and Joshua Ahern (Amy), brother James H. Scully (Lisa), two sisters Elaine Eilers and Phoebe Connerly (James), and grandson Michael Ahern along with a niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother in-law Gary Eilers. She was a retired LPN and longtime member of Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Newman Center. She loved to volunteer her time at the church, crochet, read, spend time with the family and attended UK Women's Basketball games.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lexington Humane Society or the Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Newman Center's Be Bold Campaign. Visitation is Monday November 29th from 10:30 to noon at Holy Spirit Parish Catholic Newman Center with the funeral mass to follow. It will be streamed live on the catholic wildcat youtube channel. The burial ceremony at Calvary Cemetery will be at a later date.
